In 2017, the Helping True Heroes campaign celebrated four such heart-warming and inspiring real-life stories of True Heroes:
After her young son's untimely death, Damyanti Tanna started a tiffin service in his memory. Her trust feeds more than 100 underprivileged people daily and donates monthly food items. Braving the emotional struggle she worked towards the betterment of the society with her efforts.
As a child, Gazi had to give up education due to poverty. Once he started earning, he saved money to build schools and an orphanage to provide free education to underprivileged children. Not willing to see someone else suffer the same fate, he vowed to help these children by offering the gift of knowledge.
Uma Venkatachalam's trust has rescued many children from begging on the streets, provided them food & shelter and helped them attain education.
Archana Suresh started an initiative that helps bridge the gap between ordinary people who wish to donate and the lesser privileged ones who really need it - a simple act of reaching out to the underprivileged by going above and beyond the means available to her.
